Started Service & ESA Dogs
A Strong Foundation For Future Success
At Pikes Peak German Shepherds, we believe successful Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals begin with more than obedience. They begin with sound genetics, stable temperaments, early socialization, and structured development.
Our Started Service & ESA Dogs receive extensive foundation training designed to prepare them for future service work, emotional support roles, therapy work, or life as a well-mannered companion.
Every dog is carefully selected based on temperament, confidence, trainability, and overall suitability for advanced work.
What Is A Started Service Dog?
A Started Service Dog is not a fully trained service dog.
Instead, these dogs have already received significant socialization, environmental exposure, obedience foundations, and confidence-building experiences that provide a strong starting point for future task training.
This allows families and handlers to begin with a dog that has already developed many of the skills necessary for success in public and home environments.
